SEVESKIG's first-ever collaboration with Honda has finally become a reality. With five out of the six motorcycles owned by the designer themselves being vintage Hondas, this is an “inevitable collaboration” that the brand has nurtured for many years.
A track jacket made from original double-jacquard kanji fabric, developed as recovery wear for after racing and long-distance touring.
The outer yarns are made of rayon silk, which has a moderate luster and a supple drape. The excellent moisture absorption and release properties of silk, combined with the smooth feel unique to rayon, enhance comfort and relaxation when worn.
The kanji weave on the reverse side utilizes charcoal derived from rice husks manufactured by Kansai Sangyo, while using yarns dyed with persimmon tannin and sumi ink. Persimmon tannin not only repels insects and prevents decay but also suppresses static electricity, while sumi dyeing offers deodorizing and antibacterial properties, and the weak far-infrared rays derived from carbon are expected to gently maintain body temperature. These material properties reduce the strain on the body even after long hours of riding, creating “recovery-like comfort.”
Based on functionality as motorcycle wear, this is a track jacket unique to SEVESKIG, combining the texture of the materials with the benefits of the dyeing process to elevate it to an aesthetic of fashion.
