SEVESKIG 2024 S/S COLLECTION

“IF WE BREAK DOWN THE WALLS”
At Heitate Shrine in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, there is a mask called the Goshiki Shinmen, which is said to represent all the races of the world.
Once every five years, a festival is held to pray for a world of harmony where all humanity recognizes and helps each other.
For AW2023-24, we used various techniques to express the legends and prophecies of the Native American HOPI tribe (People of Peace), who are known as Akahito (Red Man) among the five-colored divine masks.
This season, we will be offering items that incorporate the myths and legends of the Nordic Slavic people, also known as Caucasian (Shirohito).
There have been repeated conflicts between the same ethnic groups, invasions by other ethnic groups, and physical and psychological barriers that remain to this day.
If we could remove the various barriers that separate us, people would be able to live their lives in freedom and peace, and a brighter future might become possible.
The collection theme is expressed through various methods: darkness and light, monochrome and color, fake and real.
Additionally, we made extensive use of AI this season as well, using it to generate graphics through prompts, as well as to create materials for storytelling, and we created items that incorporate fun and discoveries made by misleading the AI.
Both humans and AI make mistakes, which lead to many of the misunderstandings and mistakes we face today, but the message conveyed in this work is that we should still enjoy these experiences.
