The world today is fraught with polarization and contradictions in every domain. Expanding disparities, sustainability versus mass consumption, regulations surrounding freedom of expression, AI-driven disinformation, and social pressure on SNS. The stronger the forces striving to maintain order, the more the world suffers from halation. Like film burnt by intense light, boundaries dissolve, and truth becomes ambiguous. Amidst this, SEVESKIG champions "≠ (not equal)." Halation ↔ SEVESKIG ≠ Conservative → Conserve —Things that remain in the world, things to be preserved. The Conserve that SEVESKIG defines is not merely conservative but a restructured framework for "preservation" to protect the individual and pass things on to the future. This philosophy is embodied in materials and techniques: artisan spray processing that makes light bleed, Kansai Sangyo's wool yarn made with charcoal, Imabari towel fabric that resembles denim, and the new tanning technology "ACORN LEATHER" primarily made from acorn caps. All are born from the hands of Japan's few remaining artisans and are implementations of Conserve, redesigned "to preserve for the world." Their seemingly conservative appearance transforms into an intentional "≠" to preserve "individual moments" in unstable times. SEVESKIG negates Conservative while creating things that remain in the world as Conserve.
