Vol.23 今年初の・・・

Vol.23 This year's first...

It's gotten quite warm and spring is in full swing.

It's the perfect day for touring, but for some reason it's raining on my day off.

This weekend we will be having an order meeting at our wholesaler "WHISKER" in Fukuoka, and next weekend we will be having an order meeting at our wholesaler "CMB" in Toyota City.

Toyota is just the right distance away, so I'm thinking of going there by motorbike with the pattern maker, but it looks like it's forecast to rain...

It's a shame because I just bought a new muffler.

Today I delivered the first bear leather of the year, so with the customer's permission I would like to post it on my blog.

This time, the leather is made from a culled Hokkaido brown bear, tanned using full vegetable tanning and finished with oil.

Since no wax is added, you can enjoy the firm texture of the dyed leather.

This time it's standard UK style.

To enhance movement, action pleats have been added to the back.

It has a 1.3mm finish, but it is still stiff at first, so I would recommend it for those who want ease of movement.

The back is cut right at the center of the bear's back.

This is what is commonly known as a double shoulder bag.

Basically, no matter what kind of garment it is, it will be thick from the shoulders to the neck, and it will be hard and stiff, making it difficult to sew.

However, since it is a fairly strong part, we tend to use it on the back for special orders.

It features a unique grained texture.

There used to be a professional wrestler called Abdullah the Butcher, and this forehead looks like his.

This time, at the customer's request, we are using YKK ball zippers.

The collar is also slightly smaller.

The zipper is khaki color, giving it a vintage look.

It will be exciting to see how this bear develops from here.

The buckle is of the same specifications as the one I made, with the tip pointing backwards.

I think they designed it this way because if you brought it to the front it would damage the bike.

Although the customer in this case does not ride a motorcycle, he liked this feature and has decided to use it.

The belt is firmly attached to the body so that it won't break even if it gets caught slightly.

The unique power and creased feel can be felt even in a photograph, it's irresistible.

This is a "bear jacket" made from bear fur that I bought on a recent business trip to Hakodate.

We are also accepting orders for this item, and we received two orders, one for the exhibition and one yesterday.

By the way, every time an order comes in, I go to Hakodate to select the fur.

Since it is not possible to make a bear costume from one animal, I will buy two, but I cannot tell the color, texture, and size until I see them in person, so...

So as soon as exhibition month is over I'll be flying to Hakodate.

This will be my first time in Hokkaido in the spring, so I'm looking forward to it.

The 100% bear "Kuma Jan" is actually available in the atelier, so if you'd like to see it, please come and visit us.

See you later!
