Vol.15 ISAMUKATAYAMA BACKLASH VS SEVESKIG

It's the coldest time of the year and it's freezing cold in Tokyo.
The atelier is almost complete, but unfortunately there is no air conditioning and it is freezing cold.
Meanwhile, the 2021 S/S collection is gradually getting underway, with sales starting as early as tomorrow at wholesalers nationwide and at 7SLK Lab.
Our first collaboration of 2021 is with ISAMU KATAYAMA BACKLASH, a friendly friend who we go drinking with and touring with.
Recently, when our new Kawasaki ZH2 was delivered, the two of us went on a Z Touring trip to Yokohama Chinatown.
This is our second collaboration, and this time we used "W FACE GOAT LEATHER" produced by BACKLASH based on SEVESKIG's "MULTIFUNCTION RAIN WEAR".
W FACE has a silver finish on the reverse side, so it is smooth even without a lining and you can experience the natural feel of leather.
The fabric is thin and the leather is soft, so it is as comfortable to wear as regular fabric.
When you think of BACKLASH leather, many people imagine it to be hard and durable, but I think that Katayama, who is also known as the leather magician, really does make it stand out.
The surface is pigment coated, so I think it will repel light rain.
It is only available in black color, but the zipper is waterproof.
The design concept is "Touring without a backpack or bag!"
It was originally rainwear, but I didn't want it to look bulky because of the clothes I wore underneath, so I designed it to be oversized.
The hood is also unique and can be worn even over a helmet, cap, or hat.
When I ride my bike on a rainy day, drops fall through the gap between my bowtie and the visor.
To avoid that, it would be nice to have a large hood that can be worn over a helmet.

BACKLASH is also selling this in navy color.
By the way, it can also be worn as a full face helmet.
*The photo is of a 20SS product.
You can look like Kaiman from Dorohedoro.
You can also remove the hood and wear it like a field jacket.
The detachable hood is also a US military detail.
I saw this in a vintage shop and thought the details were cool and inspired me, but I forgot the name of the military model.
If you're interested, try googling it.
Since this is a close-up photo, I'll add that the handle has an anti-slip coating, so it can be opened and closed easily even while wearing gloves.
The front zipper is shifted to the right, a design inspired by riders jackets, which increases the impact and prevents wind from entering.
I use spindles to prevent wind from entering from the hem, and this time I'm also using "KIXSIX" to participate.
This time, the spindle is woven with reflective thread.
When riding a motorbike through a dark area, pedestrians wearing reflective material can be easily spotted, so I think it's a safe design for both parties.
The product impressions are as follows:
It will arrive at 7SLK Lab tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to wearing it starting tomorrow.
I'd like to upload pictures of myself wearing the garment on Instagram and other platforms.
I've been feeling frustrated lately because I haven't been able to go out drinking at all because of COVID, but I'd like to go out drinking again once the state of emergency is lifted.
See you later!
