Vol.11 LEATHER PANTS

Vol.11 LEATHER PANTS

Although the end of the year is fast approaching, we are still busy preparing for the AW21 exhibition.

I will struggle this week and next week.

This time I would like to write about the "LEATHER PANTS" that will also appear in the AW collection.

The collection launched by SEVENSKIGS for AW 2012 featured the HORSE HIDE bush pants, a homage to Levi's from the 70's.

For AW 2013, we're still going with HORSE HIDE bush pants.

So far I haven't been able to find any photos in the cloud or online...

Of course, I buy it every year, so I have the actual item, but it's stored deep in my clothes room so I can't post a picture of it...

LEATHER PANTS was unexpectedly on hiatus in AW 2014.

2015AW, HORSE HIDE 5P PANTS

This is the first 5P type produced using a lot of oil and plain dyeing.

The only drawback to these pants was that they contained too much oil, so the leather got too cold in extreme cold.

Stretch cow leather

It's easy to stretch leather, but I remember having a lot of trouble coming up with the material to put underneath so that it would kick back.

At this time, we took heat retention into consideration and used a polyester material similar to honeycomb.

The end result was LEATHER PANTS with a fun, plump look that I was very happy with.

2016AW, HORSE HIDE 5P

Up until this season, we had been using a lot of horse leather from Shinki Leather.

At that time, the quality of the raw hides coming into the country was still good, and there were no unpleasant grains like those seen in B and C.

Recently (not Shinki-san's) I often see horse leather that has a bumpy appearance, perhaps due to the type of leather that comes in being bad, or the individual piece.

So, from the next season until now, I haven't used horse leather.

For AW 16 they also have deerskin leather pants, but I couldn't find any photos of them...

2017AW, COW LEATHER MOTO PANTS

These are our first MOTOR CYCLE PANTS.

The transition part behind the knee on the back has a special shape, and the pattern is designed to make it easier for the knee to bend.

The front part has a power net bellows (see Vol.3) and 1cm high-resilience urethane, giving it a genuine vintage look.

I personally like sticking stickers on bikes, helmets, etc., and I wondered if I could also stick stickers on LEATHER PANTS, so I created this series in which stickers are transferred onto leather.

We also produced a 5P type in silver-finished suede.

I love this silhouette and still wear it often until early autumn.

2018AW, GOAT PACHWORK 5P

The parts are so small that it was difficult to identify the factory where they were made when I was making the sample, so I remember patching them together myself.

All the patches were made by Yokoburi craftsmen.

STRETCH WILD DEER LEATHER PANTS

These are extremely stretchy LEATHER PANTS, made from stretch material attached to what is commonly known as deerskin skiver (0.3mm).

I will only wear these until early autumn.

In the middle of winter, this thickness makes me shiver because it's too cold.

2019AW, WILD DEER LEATHER MOTO PANTS

These are WILD DEER's MOTO PANTS, which have become the foundation of my style today.

It is characterized by its transparency and firmness that is unique to full-vegetable products.

Since the leather has not been treated in any way, it is a product that you can enjoy to the fullest as it changes over time.

Starting this season, we have made some slight changes to the pattern, creating a larger leg opening.

You can straddle a motorcycle or bicycle without stress.

2020AW, HAND DYE COW LEATHER MOTO PANTS

This is a piece that took a lot of time and effort to make, as the cowhide is sewn together with crust and each piece is hand-sprayed with dye using a gun at a dye factory.

If you dye the product after production, water will pass through the leather and it will harden, and if you don't then add in the oil properly, it can cause it to crack, so we used this method.

I've been wearing them at least twice a week this season, and I feel like they're pretty close to the finished product.

When you hear the word crust, you might imagine it to be quite hard, but after about two months it adapted to the shape of my body and I was able to wear it without any stress.

Stretch cow suede pants

These are my first suede stretch pants.

These LEATHER PANTS feature a moderately tight silhouette and heat-storing, heat-retaining material used for the lining.

I won't reveal the manufacturer's name, but this heat-storing, insulating lining has the property of preventing your body heat from escaping, making it a perfect match for leather.

Moreover, it stretches, so it follows the elasticity of the outer leather.

This is also one of my favorite books.

So, these are the LEATHER PANTS that I make almost every season.

There are pants made from a variety of materials, such as woven pants, sweatpants, and jersey pants, but I personally feel that LEATHER PANTS are the ones that give you the most enjoyable feeling when wearing them.

The first time I tried on GOODENOUGH's LEATHER PANTS, it might have had a big influence on me.

I don't usually do this when I'm walking around, but when I'm riding my bike, I feel more stylish when I wear LEATHER as part of a set.

We are also producing new LEATHER PANTS for the next 21AW collection.

I think the sample will be uploaded next month, and I am already looking forward to it.

Once it's up I'll give you a sneak peek on my blog.

Also, the store was scheduled to be completed at the end of December, but has been pushed back a bit and now looks set to open in January.

I hope to be able to update that as well on the blog.

See you later!
